"GRAND RAPIDS, MI -- Relatives of a man accused of fatally shooting his girlfriend and another woman in a mini-van Monday, then killing himself, have identified him as Marvin Lockridge, 27. His girlfriend has been identified as 31-year-old Quiana Phillips, of Grand Rapids. The other woman who died, 21-year-old Chelsea Magoon, was a relative of Phillips.
Both women died of a single gunshot wound to the head, Grand Rapids police said Tueesday, Dec. 18.
The shootings happened shortly after 11 a.m. Monday in the parking lot at Arbor Circle, a counseling center at Ball Avenue NE and Leonard Street.
Grand Rapids police on Tuesday, Dec. 18, identified the women, but did not identify the shooter. His family, however, said he was Marvin Lockridge.
Lockridge died at the hospital after police found all three people inside a mini-van parked in the Arbor Circle parking lot.
Police said the man and Phillips had been in a counseling session at Arbor Circle while Magoon waited in the van.
Lockridge and Phillips had been in a relationship and have a 2-year-old child.
